How It Works

Your Ads on Our Bags - Combatting Food Insecurity

The Ads To End Hunger program reaches out to people by printing our sponsors message on paper bags which are then supplied to businesses who then offer them to their customers for FREE.

Sponsors can claim a spot on an upcoming bag campaign by visiting here.

After the campaign deadline passes and the bags are printed, they are then distributed to the businesses and organizations who request them.

Food Gift Cards Delivered to Food Banks

50% of the net profits generated through Ads To End Hunger program goes toward the purchase of Food Delivery gift cards which are then donated to Food Banks.

By providing Food Delivery gift card donations, we provide support to individuals and families who require assistance though Food Banks. Gift cards donated to these organizations by the Ads To End Hunger program also patronize local restaurants, who deliver through these platforms--and ultimately the people who work there.

All of this is accomplished simply by sponsoring bags that are provided for FREE to customers at check out.

Best of all paper bags are recyclable, which saves the environment!

How Ads to End Hunger Came About:

At the dawn of the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic, there were a lot of questions with very few answers. It seemed like our world was changing by the hour as each new discovery was made about this deadly disease that took the planet by storm.

LOCK DOWN! - A precautionary move to prevent the spread of the disease.

Within days, our communities that were once bustling with people going about their daily lives resembled ghost towns.

Our company CEO, Brian Avelino, became a courier for a food delivery network in order to make ends meet, as his media business was affected by the lockdowns. It was the only answer as it was considered essential work (unlike any of the company's other services).

Throughout the year, as Avelino dodged COVID and helped deliver essential items in the Greater Toronto Area, he witnessed the struggle that many businesses and people faced. He felt like something could be done. But what?

On June 20, 2023 the Canadian Federal government announced that the manufacture and import for sale in Canada of single use plastics will be prohibited* - this included plastics bags, something many people took for granted.

Piles of plastic bags, available for customers at checkout in a virtually unlimited supply, vanished overnight. Customers were then left scrambling to change their shopping habits. Some people were able to make the adjustment. However some struggled to bring their reusable bags, especially for impulse purchases or when it simply isn't practical to keep a fabric bag on hand.

Reusable bags were introduced at checkout, often available to the customer for a fee. Absorbing the cost of a shopping bag repeatedly was another burden on people who are already struggling, not to mention the growing amount of reusable bags collecting in people's homes!

The After-Effects: Food Insecurity!

As the years passed, and the Global Pandemic officially came to an end, it left many struggling in its wake. Food Banks Canada reported:

In March 2023, there were almost 2 million visits to food banks across Canada, representing a 3 per cent increase compared to March 2022, and a 3 per cent increase compared to March 2019, which is the highest year-over-year increase in usage ever reported.[1]

33% of food banks users in Canada are children, while only representing 20% of the population [2]

43.8% of food banks users in Canada are single adult households, while representing 29.3% of the population [2]}

Seniors represent 8% of Canadian food banks users, with the rate of increase far outpacing other age groups [2]

1 in 6 of those accessing food banks in Canada are employed [2]

This motivated Avelino to create the Ads To End Hunger program, a new and innovative advertising platform that provides merchants with FREE paper shopping bags for their customers and an opportunity for sponsors to send their message across to a general audience while also being a 100% recyclable, environmentally friendly alternative.

Part of the proceeds of paid sponsorships goes toward the purchase of food delivery gift cards donated to food banks to help those who need it, as well as the restaurants who prepare these meals.
